Periods Should Never Hold Her Back
School : SMK USJ 4
Date : 17 July 2026
Periods should never stop a girl from learning, participating or simply being herself. On 17 July 2026, Menses Health Organisation (MHO) brought this message to 171 female students at SMK USJ 4 through our Positive Period Classroom. The session encouraged students to understand their bodies and see menstruation as a natural part of life, not something that should limit them.
Throughout the session, students were encouraged to explore, question and participate. Together, we talked about the menstrual cycle, hygiene, cravings, self-care and different menstrual products. Students were curious, engaged and eager to learn, turning period topics that might once have felt awkward into conversations they could openly be part of.
Knowing what to do is important, but being prepared matters too. With the support of Kotex, students received a Confidence Kit to take home, adding a practical element to what they had learned. Together with period knowledge, having access to the right menstrual products can help girls feel more prepared to manage their periods at school and in their daily lives.
With the support of PopoMama and Kotex Malaysia, MHO hopes these 171 students walked away knowing one important thing: a period is part of her life, but it should never define what she can do. Through education, open conversations and better period support, we can help create a future where periods never hold her back.
