Flow Forward with Confidence: A Positive Period Day at SMK Lembah Subang
School : SMK Lembah Subang
Date : 26th June 2025
On 26th June 2025, the Menses Health Organisation (MHO) had the incredible opportunity to deliver our Positive Period Classroom (PPC) at SMK Lembah Subang. We were warmly welcomed by 138 enthusiastic Form 1 and Form 2 girls, each one ready to learn, ask questions, and break down the stigma surrounding periods.
This PPC session was designed not just to educate, but to inspire confidence and self-awareness. We covered key areas of menstrual health, hygiene, and nutrition—providing students with practical knowledge to help them understand their own bodies and how to care for themselves during their cycles.
But the most exciting and memorable part of the day? The hands-on menstrual product demonstration. For many students, this was their first time seeing menstrual cups, tampons, and discs up close. What started as shy giggles quickly turned into active participation, curiosity, and bold questions. They were fascinated by the variety of products available—and for the first time, many realized they had options beyond the conventional pad.
We took the time to address every question, debunk myths, and encourage the girls to speak up. By the end of the session, what was once considered a “taboo” topic had become something they could talk about with ease and interest. The atmosphere shifted—from uncertainty to empowerment.
This wasn’t just about teaching; it was about connection. The PPC at SMK Lembah Subang created a safe space where girls felt seen, heard, and supported. They left the room more confident, more informed, and more in control of their period journey.
This impactful day was made possible with the generous support of PopoMama, who believes in empowering young girls through access to knowledge and period care. Their contribution helped us reach every girl in the room with the resources and understanding they deserve.
