On December 3rd, 2024, the Menses Health Organisation hosted an exciting Period Education Workshop for 126 enthusiastic girls aged 12 years. Sponsored by PopoMama, this interactive session covered everything from period health and hygiene to nutrition, with expert speakers offering practical tips and advice.
The session kicked off with a fun dive into what periods are all about and what’s happening in our bodies. The girls got the scoop on managing their periods like pros, along with practical hygiene hacks to stay fresh and feel confident. Plus, they learned how to keep their energy up and stay healthy throughout their cycle!
There was also a hands-on demo of menstrual products like tampons, menstrual cups and reusable cloth pad. The students got to touch the products and see them up close. They were excited to learn, asking plenty of questions and actively participating as they gained practical knowledge on how to use the products correctly.
The most anticipated session was the Mystery Box Quiz, where students answered questions to win exciting prizes! It was a fun and engaging way to recap key takeaways from the program. By the end, they felt empowered and better equipped with the knowledge to manage their periods with confidence.
