On 15th June 2025, Menses Health Organisation was honoured to be invited by a passionate student group from UiTM Shah Alam to deliver our Positive Period Classroom (PPC) session during their community outreach program, Her Health, Her Power. This meaningful initiative focused on improving period health awareness among young girls from PAYASUM Melaka, aged 11 to 17 years old.
The program, held in Melaka, was a strong collaborative effort between UiTM Shah Alam, MHO, UMNO Bahagian Melaka Tengah, LPPKN Melaka, and PAYASUM Melaka, showcasing the power of cross-institutional partnerships in advancing period health education.
During the one-hour PPC session, MHO engaged the participants with practical, age-appropriate knowledge about period health, hygiene, and nutrition. Through interactive sharing and relatable examples, the session aimed to empower the girls with confidence and clarity in managing their periods—breaking the silence and stigma surrounding period.
We believe it is crucially important for students to learn about period health from a young age. When girls understand how their bodies work, they’re better prepared to manage their cycles, care for their well-being, and advocate for their needs. Education is not just about awareness, it’s about giving them the tools to thrive.
This initiative not only educated but also inspired the participants to take charge of their period well-being. We are proud to have been part of a program that echoes our mission: to normalize period conversations, promote health literacy, and uplift every girl with the knowledge she deserves.
