Flow Forward: Inspiring Confidence Through Period Education
School : SMK Bandar Utama Damansara 4
Date : 11th June 2025
On May 6th, 2025, the Menses Health Organisation welcomed 98 bright and curious 13-year-old girls to a Positive Period Classroom—a day dedicated to breaking stigmas, sharing knowledge, and celebrating self-care.
The session began by guiding the girls through essential topics like period health, hygiene, and nutrition, helping them better understand their bodies and how to care for them throughout their cycles. But the moment that truly sparked excitement was the menstrual product demonstration.
As different products were introduced—pads, tampons, cloth pad, menstrual cups, and menstrual discs—the room came alive with curiosity and laughter. Many of the girls were seeing these products for the first time, and their reactions ranged from wide-eyed amazement to playful giggles.
They eagerly passed around the items, asked questions, and weren’t afraid to voice their thoughts. Myths were busted, fears eased, and suddenly, what once felt strange became something to explore with confidence. The girls were fascinated by the design and function of menstrual cups and discs, intrigued by tampons, and thrilled to finally understand their options.
Thanks to PopoMama, this unforgettable day of education, empowerment, and sisterhood was made possible, leaving a lasting impact that will stay with these girls for years to come.
